umr-e-raftaa kaa ko’ii Khvaab dikhaane aao
Come back as its been ages since I last saw you.
Come back to show me a dream from the days bygone.
maiN saraaboN meN bhaTaktaa rahuuN sehraa sehraa
tum merii pyaas ko aa’iinaa dikhaane aao
Let me wander from desert to desert blinded by mirages
so that when you come back I know it was you I longed for.
ajnabiiyat ne ka’ii daaGh diye haiN dil ko
aashnaa’ii kaa ko’ii zaKhm lagaane aao
Your aloofness has caused many afflictions to this heart
now it desires for a wound of recognition, please come back.
milnaa chaahaa to kiye tumne kiye bahaane kyaa kyaa
ab kisii roz na milne ke bahaane aao
You were armed with excuses whenever I longed for a meeting
please visit me now even if it is only an excuse.
